Charles Bernhardt Redmond of Clarksville, VA passed away on January 29, 2024. He was born on October 1, 1928 in Portland, Maine and was raised in Washington, D.C. Charles attended Gales Elementary, Jefferson Junior High, Eastern High School and George Washington University. He was a member of Central Boy's Club, DeMolay, Sigma Chi, Lions Club and Masonic Lodge Bethesda 204. Charles worked for the Central Intelligence Agency from June 1951-January 1979, serving in Japan and Germany, and received the Intelligence Medal of Merit. After living in Bethesda, Maryland and Hamilton, Virginia, he retired to Clarksville. Charles spent his retirement years traveling around the world.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Leland Redmond; his mother, Evelyn Keegan and a sister, Marie Mello. He was survived by his daughters, Dorothy, Patricia and Judith Redmond; a son, Charles Redmond, as well as 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
The family requests no flowers and suggests donations to the Boy's Club of America.
