Charles Fields Burton

SOUTH BOSTON Mr.Charles Fields Burton of 3116 Philpott Road, South Boston, VA. died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the age of 67. He was born January 26, 1948 in Elkin, NC to the late Claude Fields Burton, Sr. and the late Edith Etta Snead. Mr. Burton was married to Patricia Smith Burton. Mr. Burton was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Vietnam era. He was a truck driver for 31 years, having driven for Lasco for 20 years from 1986-2006. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Smith Burton,; two daughters: Amy Burton Cothren and husband, David of Traphill, NC, Tammy Renee Burton Brighan and husband Rick of Conover, NC.; one son: Bruce Wayne Burton and wife Marcie of Maydan, NC.; two step daughters: Tammy Annette Wilson and husband Sonny of Martinsville, VA, Kimberly Dale Adkins of South Boston, VA.; two grandchildren, four great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother,; three brothers: Claude Fields Burton, Jr., Glenn Burton, Albert Henry Burton and two sisters: Geneva Jane Burton Hall and Mary Ellen Burton Mabe. Visitation will be Monday, June 29, 2015 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM with Military Honors held at 8:00 PM. and in honoring Mr. Burton's wishes, he will be cremated.
