Charles Kirby Hudson, born May 26, 1935 passed away peacefully at his home in Richmond, Va on September 18, 2024. He lived life to the fullest and bravely fought kidney failure until he met his heavenly Father. Charles was preceded in death by his parents James William Hudson and Naomi Wilborn Hudson, sisters Ruth Hudson, Mary Alice Arrington (Kerns), Clarice Hudson, Doris "Dot" Hudson, and brother William Bill" Hudson. He is survived by his wife Jewell, daughter Dawn Lock (Jason, granddaughter, Sara Lock, four nieces Frances Perkins (Jimmy), Ruby Thompson, Mary Lou Dunn, Elizabeth "Libby" Slagle (Roger), and nephew William "Billy" Arrington (Joan) and a host of great nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charles retired from J. Sargent Reynolds Community College as Director of Finance and pursued his passion for real estate with Napier ERA. As much as he loved helping individuals with their real estate needs, his true joy was spending time with family, friends, and perhaps his greatest happiness was spending time with his granddaughter, Sara. From infancy on, nothing brought a smile to his face quicker than seeing Sara. She truly was the "apple of his eye." He loved meeting and talking with people and never met a stranger. He served in the US Army and was a proud Virginian and the consummate host, always ensuring all were enjoying a wonderful time.
