Charles Franklin Simmons

Nelson, VA Charles Franklin Simmons, age 79, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017.He was born in Hitesburg, VA on March 1, 1937 to the late Edna Hughes and George Washington Seamons.Mr. Simmons served in the United State Army during the Vietnam era.He worked at Burlington Industries as a line worker.Charles Simmons is survived by two daughters, Tammie Rice (Keith) of Fairburn, GA and Ann Seamons of Creedmoor, NC; grandsons, Lane Meadows of Creedmoor and C.J. Rice of Fairburn; sister, Emily Bane (Elvin) of South Boston, VA and long time friend, Laura Newton.Visitation will be held from 7 – 8:30 pm on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA23927.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11 at Hitesburg Baptist Church with the Reverends Norman Talley and Mike Riley officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hitesburg Baptist Church.
