Mr. Charlie Landrum Dixon of 9467 Greenhill Court, Richmond, VA died on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the age of 90. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on June 22, 1923 to the late James John Dixon and the late Frances Landrum Dixon and was married to the late Thelma Crowder Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII, a former member of the American Legion, and was self employed as a carpenter. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Dixon McDonald and husband, Alexander Horvath of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Harry O. Dixon and Claborne B. Dixon, both of South Boston, VA; two sisters, Virginia D. Crews and Joyce D. Powell, also both of South Boston, and by a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son, Mark Dixon, one sister, Mary Dixon Dunn, and three brothers, Wilson E. Dixon, James C. Dixon, and Gene L. Dixon. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at 2 pm at Clover Cemetery with Rev. Alan M. Epps officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Saturday night from 7 until 8:30 and at other times at the home of Harry O. Dixon, 1207 Ash Avenue, South Boston, VA.
