Charlotte Dayberry Carlton

Charlotte Dayberry Carlton of Boydton, Va passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at the age of 82. She was born in Mecklenburg County on March 5, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Earnest Talley Dayberry and Carie White Dayberry and was married to the late William "Billy" Carlton. Aside from being a great mother,  Charlotte worked for the Mecklenburg County Schools as a teacher’s aide. She also served as a lay minister for Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed being a travel hostess for White Star Tours. She was a member at Rehobeth United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Carlton is survived by her son, Kevin Carlton (Amy), of Boydton, two daughters, Charlene Williamson (Chris) of Clarksville, Lisa Wagstaff and
Todd Edens, of Boydton, a sister, Juanita Hodges, eight grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and her special companion, Gidget. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Dayberry and Berkley Dayberry.

Charlotte's family will receive friends and loved ones for Visitation at 11:00 am with Funeral Services following at 12:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2023 in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be held at Fields United Methodist Church Cemetery in Finchley, VA immediately following her services.
