Charlotte Watkins Cooper, 101, of Richmond, formerly of Clarksville, VA, passed away June 21 at her home at Westminster-Canterbury. Born in Virgilina, VA, Feb. 16, 1907, to William Devin and Sally Chandler Watkins, she attended North Carolina College for Women now University of North Carolina at Greensboro majoring in physical education. In 1928 she married James Edward Cooper of Graham, NC. Mrs Cooper is survived by three daughters, Jacquelyn C. and husband Charles H. Adams of Richmond, Gwendolyn C. and husband James S. Wamsley of Richmond, and Charlotte C. and husband Fred Gregory of Harve de Grace, MD; eigth grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A private graveside service will be held for family and friends in Clarksville Monday, June 23, at 11a.m. A memorial service will be held in Richmond at Westminster-Canterbury at 10:30 a.m Wednesday, June 25.
