Christine Capps Pittman

Clarksville, VA - Mrs. Christine Capps Pittman, widow of Clarence Woodberry Pittman, left us to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the age of 93.She was born on October 30, 1923 in Durham County, NC to the late Sally Thompson Capps and the late John Franklin Capps.Mrs. Pittman retired as the shipping center office manager for Russell Stover Candy Factory. Cherishing the memories of Christine Capps Pittman, are her daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Charles Lee of Clarksville, Carole and Rodney Barwick of Buffalo Junction, Barbara and Dan Douglas of Perry, GA and her sons and daughter-in-law Len Pittman of Irmo, SC, John and Doris Pittman of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pittman was preceded in death by her brothers Reginald Capps, Frank Capps, Floyd Capps and Lawrence Capps. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 7 – 8:30 p.m.The funeral service for Mrs. Pittman will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 31 at Union Chapel Baptist Church, Clarksville, VA with the Reverend Rodney Barwick officiating.Burial will be in the Pittman Family Cemetery in Raeford, NC.
