Clarksville, VA Christopher Robin Marriott, husband of Deborah Ackerman Marriott, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at the age of 63.He was born October 1, 1956 in Newark, Ohio to the late Robert and Helen Sipe Marriott. Chris was raised in the Welsh Hills of Granville, Ohio.He retired from Denison University where he worked as a tradesman and locksmith for 35 years.Chris had just moved to Clarksville, Virginia a year and a half ago but it had become home.He made many friends and shared many laughs here.Chris enjoyed lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors, always with a smile and his great laugh.He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and enjoyed the lake and watching wildlife of any kind.Chris loved going to the beach.He took much pride in his home and yard and could do and fix just about anything, especially if it involved working with wood.His favorite pastime was boating and golf carting with Debbie and dogs, Diamond and Sassy. Chris is survived by his wife of 40 years, Debbie; brothers, Phillip (Beth) Marriott of Richmond, Virginia and Mark Marriott of Buffalo Junction, Virginia; as well as nephews Justin (Megan) Marriott and Matt (Allison) Marriott; as well as his family in Ohio, North Carolina, and Iowa. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at Gypsy Beach on Buggs Island Lake, Clarksville, Virginia as well as in Granville, Ohio.Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.wclfh.com, with Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home serving the Marriott family.
