Christopher Barrow Newton

Clarksville, VA - Christopher Barrow Newton passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the age of 52.He was born in South Boston, VA on May 18, 1964 to Judy Talbott Newton and Patrick Haman Newton.Chris was a member of the 1982 graduating class at Bluestone Senior High and went on to graduate from Elon College in 1987.He was employed as a butcher with Shopper’s Value in Kenbridge and a member of Averett Baptist Church.Chris loved music and playing the drums. In addition to his parents, Mr. Newton is survived by his daughter, Taylor Nicole Newton and her companion, Tyler Reagan; step-daughter, Paige Hamlett and her husband, Travis; sister, Merry Carol Newton; grandson, Nathaniel Scott Reagan; step-grandson, John Blaine Hamlett; aunt, Paula Talbott Cates and her husband, David and cousins, Andrew and Will Cates. Services for Christopher Barrow Newton will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA with burial to follow at Oakhurst Cemetery.The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.The Reverend Rodney Barwick will be officiating.
