Clara "Nancy" Overby Cole

VIRGILINA - Mrs. Clara "Nancy" Overby Cole of 1029 Carolina Ave., Virgilina, VA died Sunday August 16, 2015 at the age of 82. She was born in Mecklenburg Co., VA on October 29, 1932 to the late William Henry Overby and the late Sissie Ivy Overby and was married to Otis Cole. Mrs. Cole was a 1952 graduate of Oak Hill High School. She was an employee of Halifax Cotton Mills for 40 plus years and drove a school bus for Halifax Co. Public Schools for 10 years. Survivors include her husband, Otis Cole of Virgilina, VA; daughter, Judy Cole and husband, David of Virgilina, VA; and son, Mark Cole of Nottoway, VA; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clyde William Cole, son, Clyde Michael Cole, and two brothers, Frankie Overby and John Overby, Graveside services for Mrs. Cole will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Shady Grove United Methodist Cemetery with the Reverend Doctor Troy Rust officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Judy and David Cole, 1075 Whitt Farm Trail, Virgilina.
