Clark Gable Cole

Mr. Clark Gable Cole of 1034 Newton Farm Rd., South Boston, VA died Friday, November 2, 2012 at the age of 74. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on September 26, 1938 to the late Andrew Mayfield Cole and the late Rosetta Griffin Cole and was married to Carolyn Sue Roop Cole. Mr. Cole was retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Sue Roop Cole of South Boston, VA; two sons, Kenneth Cole and wife, Sandra of Ashland, VA and Kevin Cole and wife, Terri of Chesapeake, VA; a daughter, Kimberly Cole Powell and husband, Howard of South Boston, VA; two step sons, Buddy Campbell and wife, Amy of South Boston, VA and Billy Campbell and wife, Tina of South Boston, VA; a step daughter, Tammy C. Rice and husband, David of South Boston, VA; two sisters, Mattie Sue Mills of Halifax, VA and Faye Horton of Hurdle Mills, NC; a brother, Gene Cole of Halifax, VA; six grandchildren, Gregory Cole, Mary Beth Cole, Kyle Cole, Trent Cole, Madeline Powell, and Meredith Powell; eight step grandchildren, Corey Powell, Casey Campbell, Chad Campbell, Chase Campbell, Kelsey Campbell, Cori Campbell, Jeff Rice, and Brittany Rice; and four step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday afternoon from 1 pm until 2 pm and at other times at the home.
