Claude Talmadge Tollerson

Claude Talmadge Tollerson, 83, husband of Ruby Fitz Tollerson, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at MeadowView Terrace in Clarksville. Born July 8, 1930 to Claude and Bertie Bray Tollerson, he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Talmadge worked at Kindley Ford for 34 years and completed his career at Hardee Ford. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Talmadge is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Danny McGee of Creedmoor, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Shelby Tollerson and Raven and Penny Tollerson; and brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Dorothy Tollerson, all of Boydton. His grandchildren, Dawn Currin, Laura Wilkinson, Jessica Bowers, Jennifer Conner and Ryan McGee; five great grandchildren; and special friends, Bill and Joyce Newcomb also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Claiborne. Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverends Gene Burris, Sid Rodriguez and Randy Baisey officiating. Interment will follow in the Fields United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-8:30PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
