Claudia W. Austin

Mrs. Claudia W. Austin, age 87, of 827 Grove Avenue, South Boston, VA died Wednesday, April 10, 2013. She was born on May 11, 1925 to the late John F. Wilkins and the late Lucy Turner Wilkins, and was married to the late H. A. "Dude" Austin. Mrs. Austin was a retired bookkeeper for J. E. Burton Construction Co., and was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as a deacon. Survivors include two sons, Steve Austin & wife Gina of South Boston, VA and Chuck Austin & wife Holly of Wellington, FL.; five grandchildren, Adam Austin & wife Kristi of Richmond, VA, Elizabeth Austin of Richmond, VA, Jenna Austin of South Boston, VA, Matt Austin & wife Tricia of Orlando, FL, and Josh Austin & wife Liz, also of Orlando, FL; and by four great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son and her aunt, Janie Turner. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, at 11 am at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Anderson and Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday night, April 12, from 7 until 8:30 and at other times at the home of Steve & Gina Austin, 827 Grove Avenue, South Boston, VA.
