Clarksville, VA – Clayton Collier Callahan, husband of the late Edith Johnson Callahan, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the age of 95. He was born in Mecklenburg County on September 26, 1926, to the late William Daniel and Nora Piercy Callahan. Mr. Callahan was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a local businessman, realtor, developer, owner and operator of Triple C Realty. Mr. Callahan was often referred to as the real estate business pioneer in the area. He was an avid golfer and a true southern gentleman, a good friend and mentor to many. Surviving is his sister, Edith Clary of Brodnax, VA; niece, Carol Puryear (Danny Martin) of South Boston, VA; nephew, Danny Clary (Tamara) of Bracey, VA; great nephew, Dex Seamon; great nephew, Reid Clary; great niece, Samantha Moody (Anthony); great- great nephew, Wil; great- great niece, Harper; and close cousins, George W. Callahan and Jean Callahan Robinette. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Callahan is preceded in death by siblings, Rebecca McDaniel, Daniel Callahan and Meredith Callahan. A funeral service for Clayton will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at 3pm in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.The family will receive friends and loved ones at Visitation one hour prior to the funeral.Committal will follow at the Eternity Mausoleum in Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, VA.
