Cliff Mitchell Long

CLUSTER SPRINGS Mr. Cliff Mitchell Long, Sr. of Cluster Springs passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on June 17, 1946 the son of the late William Harris Long and the late Eva Puryear Long. Mr. Long was veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the V.F.W. He had a love for sports especially baseball and NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Rachel R. Long; a son, Cliff Mitchell Long, Jr. (Bridget) of Midlothian; a daughter, Hope Long Culpepper of Cluster Springs; grandchildren, Zach Long, Taylor Long, and Harrison Culpepper; and a sister, Dale Reeves of Cluster Springs. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jeff, Harker, and Monte Long. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 25 at 11:00 AM in the Long Family Cemetery with The Reverend Norman Talley officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
