Clinton Clark Dalton, Sr. went to his heavenly home on October 14, 2021, at the age of 80.Clinton was born in Carroll County, VA on March 31, 1941 to the late Edgar Glenn Dalton and the late Bertha Hollingsworth Dalton-McAlexander and was married for 54 years to Carol Ann Olsen Dalton. Clint proudly served his country in the US Navy and worked for Grumman Aerospace Corporation for 31 years as a Field Service Representative.One of his roles included working on the F-14 Flight Simulator.Prior to his retirement from Grumman, he served as the A-6 Project Manager in Field Operations at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach.He loved his career and took pride in the A-6 and F-14 airplanes.Clint enjoyed 26 wonderful years of retirement. Clint loved his life on the water. He raised his family at Sandbridge Beach and spent many an evening sailing the waterways.Clint and Carol spent their retirement years in Clarksville overlooking the beautiful lake.Clint was an avid radio collector and loved any and all music! Clint worshipped his Lord and Savior as a member of Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church.He served many years as a Trustee and a member of the Worship Committee. Clint will forever be remembered for his bright smile and endless wit.He never met a stranger. He loved his family dearly and Carol was the light of his life! He cherished all eight of his beautiful grandchildren. In addition to the love of his life, Carol, Clint is survived by his son Clinton C. Dalton, Jr. (Sarah) of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Christine R. Pennington (Berk) of Keysville, VA; his grandchildren, David Howell, Jr. (Kelsey), Jesse Dalton (Marie), Zachary Howell, Piper Dalton, Grace Howell, Samuel Howell, and Harper Dalton; his sister, Claralyn Reese (Ken); and his sister-in-law, Yvonne Dalton. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stuart Dalton, and his oldest grandchild, Tyler Dalton. Services for Clint will be held on Saturday, October 23rd at 3:00PM at Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church with Pastors Sam Chung and John Bright officiating.The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00PM until 3:00PM.A private service with military honors will be held at a later date at the Dalton family cemetery in Dugspur, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Clinton Dalton to Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church, 219 Fifth Street, Clarksville, VA 23927.
