Clyde William Walker

Mr. Clyde William Walker, Jr. of 1051 Solomon Rd., Alton, VA died Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the age of 59. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on November 6, 1953 to the late Clyde Benjamin Walker and the late Mary Ellen Kaywood Walker and was married to Carmalita Balducci Walker. Mr. Walker was a member of Beth Carr Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran of Vietnam and was a self employed painter/contractor. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Laura Walker and companion, Johnnie Ray Gaylean of Rocky Mount, VA and Virginia Vanormond of Chesterfield, VA; a son, Michael Walker of South Boston, VA; two step daughters, Sandy Carter Doss and Crystal Lee Crews, both of Halifax Co., VA; two sisters, Peggy Ann Walker Gammond and fiance, Carl Clayton of Roxboro, NC and Elizabeth Walker Carver and husband, Doug of Roxboro, NC; two brothers, Randy Lewis Walker of Roxboro, NC and Donnie Wayne Walker and wife, Michelle of Roxboro, NC; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Ricky James Walker, and one grandson. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dion Loving officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Shawn and Patricia Hailey, 922 Providence Rd., Roxboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to assist the family with funeral expenses in care of Brooks Funeral Home, Inc., 115 Main St., South Boston, VA 24592.
