Curtis Peele Bowen

Mr. Curtis Peele Bowen, 64 of 3157 East Hitesburg Rd., Virgilina, VA died Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County, VA on June 9, 1945, the son of the late Ewell Adam “Peele” Bowen and the late Magurda Daniel Bowen. He was a motor grader operator with Key Construction Company, a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of Hitesburg Baptist Church. Mr. Bowen is survived by his son, Chris Bowen of Virgilina; his daughter, Kim Clark & her husband, Richard of Virgilina; his girlfriend, Rosa Shepherd of Virgilina; a step-sister, Eva Nobles & husband, Charles of Creedmoor, NC; a step-brother, Harley Jackson & wife, Brenda of Greenville, NC; and grandchildren Dylan Clark, Evan Clark, and Logan Clark. In addition to his father and mother, Mr. Bowen was preceded in death by his step-mother Virginia Jackson Bowen. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Hitesburg Baptist Church with Rev. Norman Talley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hitesburg Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Friday night March 6, 2010 from 7 until 8:30 pm and at other times at the home.
