Buffalo Junction, VA - Mrs. Cynthia Ann Strickland Howerton, wife of David Howerton, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the age of 56.She was born in Ft. Benning, GA on August 13, 1961 to Clyde Strickland and Connie Mostoller Strickland.Cindy graduated from Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, NC. She was a loving person who could always be counted on, if someone had a burden she was willing to help.Cindy was an avid collector of Longaberger and M & M brand items and was a troop leader with the Girl Scouts. In addition to her husband and parents, Cindy is survived by a son, Chad Christopher Schafer of Orange Park, FL; daughters, Candice Marie Seals (Erik) of Paradise, CA, Christy Lee Schafer also of Paradise, Crystal Dawn Schafer of Rocky Mount, NC; step-daughter, Monica Dawn Howerton (Clint Shores) of Skipwith; sisters, Catherine Gwyn Dawson (Paul) of Spring Lake, NC, Candice May Mohler (Gary) of St. Petersburg, FL, Cherie Lynn Wallace (Mark) of Sierra Vista, AZ and a brother, Craig Woodson Strickland (Paula) of Raleigh, NC.She is also survived by five nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle in Buffalo Junction, VA.The Reverend Billy Coghill will officiate.
