Daniel Ray Montgomery

HALIFAX, VA Mr. Daniel Ray Montgomery went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2017 at the age of 66.Ray was born in Halifax County on August 3, 1950, the son of the late Walter Eugene Montgomery and the late Clara Hammock Montgomery. He was married to Deborah Crews Montgomery for 41 years. Ray was a member of Winn’s Creek Baptist Church and attended True Light Baptist Church.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, and going to the race track to watch his son drag race. Ray and his son were members of Wimbush Racing. Ray is survived by his wife; sons, Ralph Daryl Montgomery and Michael Ray Montgomery, and wife, Crystal; daughter, Amanda Montgomery Talbott, and husband, Trevor; grandchildren, Richard, Savannah, and Sidney; brother, Eugene Dock Montgomery; three sister in laws; three brother in laws; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services for Mr. Montgomery will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Winn’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Jim Kopco and Reverend Greg Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 7:00PM to 8:30PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
