Clarksville, VA - Daniel Ellerbe Sandidge, Jr., widower of Patricia Sandidge, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the age of 76.He was born in Lynchburg, VA on October 14, 1940 to the late Louise Beard and Daniel Ellerbe Sandidge, Sr. Mr. Sandidge was an accomplished musician who studied at the Eastman Conservatory. He served a tour of duty in the United States Coast Guard, writing music on their behalf during his service.He arranged and composed for Diana Ross and the Supremes and wrote music for Lovelace Watkins. He performed for the Queen of England in a command performance.He also performed at John F. Kennedy’s funeral. Much of his earlier life, Mr. Sandidge lived in London.Later he served as the music director at both the Greenbrier and the Homestead.He also played with the Doctors of Jazz in Richmond. Daniel Sandidge is survived by his aunt, Nada Beard Hundley as well as cousins, Dr. Susan Hundley, Dr. Willoughby Hundley, Houston Hundley, Nada Louise Hundley, Nancy Hundley Worner and Martha Hundley Bowlin.
