Buffalo Junction, VA - Darlene Elliott Tillotson, wife of Hamlin Lee Tillotson, went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning, November 18, 2018. She was born on July 24, 1956 in Halifax County to the late William Wallace and Esther Morris Elliott. Darlene was a 1974 graduate of Bluestone Sr. High School. Her last place of employment was as a paralegal assistant at Lipscomb & Lipscomb Law Firm.However, her passion was being a devoted wife, a loving mother and helping the family with administration of the Tillotson Farm. Darlene was a member of Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle. Along with her husband of 43 years, her memories are cherished by daughters Jamie Tillotson Smith of Henderson, NC, Susan Tillotson Carr (Timmy) of Rougemont, NC, Robin Meredith Tillotson of Kernersville, NC and Mary Beth Tillotson Yancey (Steven) of Buffalo Junction as well as grandchildren Joseph Paschal, Alexis Paschal, Brian Carr, Hana Yancey, Jackson Lewis, Christian Smith and Clara Yancey. Darlene is also survived by sisters Jackie Elliott Davidson and Janet Elliott Nunn (C.W.) both of Lynchburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oakhurst Cemetery. The service will be officiated by the Reverend Billy Coghill and the Reverend Dr. William Weeks. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20 at the funeral home.
