David Lenwood Mccormick

Mr. David Lenwood McCormick of 1240 Old Cluster Springs Rd., South Boston, VA died Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 67. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on July 8, 1946 to the late Alonza Lennie McCormick and the late Florida Owen McCormick and was married to Charlotte Jean McCormick. Mr. McCormick was a retired shipping clerk at Georgia Pacific and attended Black Walnut Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Helen Hudgins and husband, Chris of Danville, VA; a son, Jason McCormick of South Boston, VA; two brothers, Lawrence McCormick and wife, Doris of Halifax, VA and Bill McCormick of Forest, VA; four sisters, Frances Womack of Vernon Hill, VA, Annie Womack of Vernon Hill, VA, Lorraine "Gladys" Throckmorton of Scottsburg, VA, and Patsy Holcombe and husband, Tommy of Volens, VA; a grandson, Christopher Hudgins; special sisters-in-law, Audrey McCormick Redd,Gail Emerson, and Kathy Adkins; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Smith, and two brothers, Bud McCormick and Charlie McCormick. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the McCormick Family Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home.
