David Jaggers Mitchell

David Jaggers Mitchell, 80, husband of Helen Watkins Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at his home. He was born August 19, 1930 to the late William Leonard and Daisy Pearl Smith. A graduate of Carolina College, Mr. Mitchell served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a tobacco farmer and operated the Mitchell Tobacco Warehouse. Memorial services will be 5:30 PM Thusday at Oxford United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. The Reverend David Hailey will be the officiant. In addition to his wife of 53 years, Mr. Mitchell is survived by his daughter, Mary Elizabeth Daniel of Oxford; son, David J. Mitchell, II of Myrtle Beach, SC and his sister, Daisy DiMond of Raleigh. His grandchildren, Taylor and Samantha Daniel also survive. Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home is assisting the Mitchell family.
