Debra Vannette Byers

Debra Vannette Byers of Dinwiddie (formerly of Virgilina) passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the age of 63. Born in South Boston, she was the daughter of Louis Byers, who survives, and the late Doris Rose Wilkerson Byers. Debra loved to receive birthday cards and cherished saving each of them for future viewing. She was known for her skill at word searches and loved watching TV.  Every summer she looked forward to visiting with family, especially traveling to Pennsylvania to visit cousins and watch their horses.

In addition to her father, Debra is survived by her sister, Sherri Norwood (Daniel) of Roanoke; niece, Sarah Marie Norwood and nephew, William Morris Norwood.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 19, 2023, in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Virgilina Cemetery. The Reverend Norman Talley will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning one hour prior to the service.
