Debra "Debbie" Loftis Hackney

South Boston, VA Debra “Debby” Loftis Hackney, wife of Ronnie Earl Hackney, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the age of 70. She was born on February 5, 1952, in Halifax County and was the daughter of the late Graham Watkins Loftis and the late Margaret Brown Loftis. Debby was a class of 1972 graduate of Halifax County High School. She enjoyed flowers, shopping and decorating. Debby was a born nurturer, who loved to take care of people. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Dan River Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, Debby is survived by a son, Jason Howerton (Amanda); daughter, Shannon Hackney Harmon (Doug); grandchildren, Skylar Cottrell, Jaydin Howerton and Josh Harmon, as well as several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Graham “Brownie” Loftis and a sister, Ruth Loftis Green. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Dan River Baptist Church with the Reverends Doug Gibson and Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service and all other times at the home.
