Debra Lehew Thomas of Cornelius, NCdied February 8, 2022. She was born on October 12, 1956 in Fort Thomas, Kentucky to Glenn N. Lehew and Shirley M. Loy. Ms. Thomas is survived by her father, Glenn N. Lehew (Joyce) and mother, Shirley M. Loy; her son Sean Thomas (Jennie) of Seattle, WA; daughter, Brea T. Garner of Huntersville, NC; brothers, Gary (Ann), Steve (Celisa) and Randy Lehew; and grandchildren Ethan and Matthew Garnerand Lucy-Mei Thomas; step-brother, Robbie Smart and step-sister, Amy Woodlief. Debi found beauty in the world around her and created works of art, not only in her career, but in her passion. She sculpted, painted, sketched, and crafted pieces that allowed us to feel and experience her visions and feelings. Debi tenaciously chased her dreams, bringing her to The Ohio State University and, later, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Debi’s family can attest to the passion that she brought to every endeavor she took as well as her unwavering faith in God. She shared her blessings and gifts and was active both in her church and her community. She was co-founder of the University City United Women’s group which has provided a sense of community for hundreds of women over the last several decades. Debi was surrounded by her faith, family, friends, and the many lives that she touched. Those of us that were blessed to be in her life take solace in the many memories of her kindness, the warmth of her smile, and the depth of her love. A celebration of life for Debi will be held on Saturday, February 26th at 11:00AM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
