Delbert Brice Owen

SCOTTSBURG, VA Mr. Delbert Brice Owen passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 65.Born in Halifax County on February 28, 1952, he was the son of Helen Anderson Owen and the late Willie Green Owen and was married to Patricia Yancey Owen. Brice was a graduate of Halifax County High School Class of 1970 and was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church. He was a salesman with Boston Lumber Company for 39 years,member of the Masonic Lodge #143 and served his country in the National Guard. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by sons, Chad Owen of Richmond, VA and Robbie Owen of Scottsburg; brothers, Ronnie Owen (Dana) of Clover and Tim Owen of Nathalie; grandchildren, Stephen Owen, Cody Owen and Tristyn Owen; sisters in law, Pam Conner (Butch) of Scottsburg and Wanda Clark (Dale) of Blue Ridge, VA; and mother in law, Ruby H. Yancey. He was preceded in death by his father;a granddaughter, Madelyn Scott Owen and father in law, Berkley Yancey. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hunting Creek Baptist Church on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Hunting Creek Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 6:30 until 8:00 PMat Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at the home, 6207 Bethel Road, Scottsburg, VA.
