Mrs. Delores Ann Elliott Schleigh of 203 Nottingham Dr., South Boston, VA died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at the age of 81. She was born in Olean, NY on May 5, 1930 to the late Orin E. Elliott and the late Mary E. Elliott King and was married to the late Joseph A. Schleigh, Sr.. Mrs. Schleigh was a former employee at the W.T. Grant Dept. Store. She volunteered for the Red Cross for over 35 years. She participated in the theatre at the Prizery and was active with the South Boston-Halifax Co. Museum. Survivors include a son, Joseph A. Schleigh, Jr. and wife, Marty of Midlothian, VA; a daughter-in-law, Bett Penick of South Boston; two sisters, Mary Huling of Bradford, PA and Elaine Pinheiro of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Keith Schleigh of Richmond, VA, Robert Womack of South Boston, VA, Curt Clingenpeel of Hanover, PA, and Lea Cadden of Midlothian, VA; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her step father, Maynard King, a daughter, Joan Cole, and a grandson, Lindsey Womack. Funeral services will held on Monday, January 30, 2012 at 4:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Holmes officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 6:30 Pm until 8:00 PM.
