Clarksville, VA Dennis Roger Williamson, age 88, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Sentara Meadowview Terrace in Clarksville, VA.He was born in Buffalo Junction, VA on April 12, 1928 to the late Samuel Williamson and Lucy Frazier Williamson.He was married for 69 years to the late Flossie Bagbey Williamson.Dennis was retired from the Clarksville Department of Transportation.Dennis is survived by his son, Dennis “Calvin” Williamson and wife, Linda; former daughter-in-law, Mildred “Rea” Hawks; two grandsons, Kevin Roger Williamson and wife, Pam and Jason Edward Williamson and wife, Lori.He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Nicholas, Morgan, Madison and Kaylee Williamson; a brother, Samuel “PeeWee” Williamson and wife, Marie and a number of nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Shirley Overbey, Winnie Smith, Kathy Hite, Shelia Weary and Nancy Weston.He is preceded in death by his son, Curley Roger Williamson, three brothers, James Williamson, Roy “Hump” Williamson and Ray Williamson; two sisters, Ruby Compton and Eva Saunders.The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 5 in the funeral home chapel with entombment to follow at Eternity Mausoleum, Oakhurst Cemetery.The Reverends Mike Riley and Donald Wilson will be officiating.Donations may be made to the Mecklenburg County Life Saving and Rescue Squad, P.O.
