SOUTH BOSTON Mr. Dolan Jeffrey “Jeff” Pittman, age 64, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 28, 2020. He was born on November 27, 1955 to the late Ernest and Dola (Lowe) Pittman in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Jeff was a member of South Boston Church of Christ. He was a former affiliate of National Alliance for Mental Illness. In 2006 Jeff was the recipient of Lilly Reintegration Award with Eli Lilly Company. He loved to read his Bible, be with family and friends, brag about his granddaughter and watch UNC Tarheels basketball. As a young man he loved singing in the choir. He loved “Gunsmoke,” “Leave it to Beaver,” the “Andy Griffith Show” and always tuned in to the news. Left to cherish his memories is his son, Jeffrey “Adam” Pittman of Virgilina, VA; his daughter, Rachel Marie Pittman of Roanoke, VA; granddaughter, Virginia Ann “Ginny” Sells and her father, James of Concord, NC; the mother of his children, Gloria C. Crute of Roanoke, VA; siblings, Donna (Dan) Miles of Raleigh, NC, Bruce (Elizabeth) Pittman of Ahoskie, NC, Mary Lynn (Danny) Rawls of Ahoskie, NC and Roland “Bo” Pittman of Ahoskie, NC; uncle & aunt, Richard “Dick” and Loli Lowe of San Diego, CA and Ruby Lowe of New Bern, NC and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Jeff’s “Uber”, Mrs. Terri Lynn Hazelwood of Scottsburg, VA and everyone at Southside Community Services Board for all their support given to him through the years. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2020 at South Boston Church of Christ with Pastor Doug Bowen officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC.
