Donald Dean Irby

DURHAM, NC Donald Dean Irby of Durham, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at the age of 56. He was born in Halifax County on December 8, 1964 to Donald Haygood Irby and Alta Kay "Katie" Paschall. Dean was a proud member of the Army National Guard. He was employed with North Carolina DOT in road maintenance. He had a love of all things Sci-Fi and outer space, as well as being a self proclaimed nerd for DC and Marvel Comics. He is survived by his mother, Katie; daughter, Tiffany Michelle Irby of New Jersey; sisters, Lisa Powell of Austin, Texas and April Hawkins (Jimmy) of Roxboro, NC; brothers, Steve Irby of Roxboro, NC and Gary Irby; and special friend, Dara Lockamy of Roxboro, NC. He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Blake Irby. A Memorial Service for Dean will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel.Interment will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
