Donald Roger Stone

Mr. Donald Roger Stone of 1145 Heath Road, Scottsburg, VA died Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the age of 69. He was born in Person County, NC on November 27, 1941 to the late Edwin R. Stone and the late Rosa May Poole Stone Whitlow. Mr. Stone was the retired owner/operator of Stone's Grocery and attended Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Justin Blake "Stoney" Stone of Scottsburg, VA, Donald Rodney Stone of Blackstone, VA, and David Ryan Stone of Saxe, VA; one brother, Charles Whitlow and wife, Ava of South Boston, VA; four sisters, Linda Tuck and husband, Tony of Oxford, NC, Millie Chambers and husband, Frank of South Boston, VA, Jean Holt and husband, Larry of Charlotte, NC, and Margie Averett and husband, Neil of Roxboro, NC; four grandchildren, Dexter Stone of Red Oak, VA, Simon Stone of Nathalie,VA, Bryson Stone, and Kaylan Stone, both of Meherrin, VA.; and by the mother of his son, Justin, Delores Powell of Scottsburg. Services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 7 PM at Brooks Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Talley and Rev. Aubrey Heath officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home following the service and at other times at his home, 1145 Heath Road, Scottsburg, VA.
