Donald Watkins "Donnie" Vaughan

SCOTTSBURG Donald Watkins "Donnie" Vaughan of Scottsburg passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the age of 63.He was born in Halifax County on February 27, 1959 to the late Preston Watkins Vaughan and Elfrieda Haslinger Vaughan. Donnie was a mechanic and loved working on cars. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and was a diehard Ford man. His family and friends were very important to him. He was loved by many people and heloved them all dearly, especially his mom, and spending time with them. Donnie never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in need while wearing his big smile. He was always talking, joking, laughing, and had the last word. He loved to travel, making memories with friends.He was known as "Buddy Poppa" by his grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Eli Vaughan,Samantha Wilborn (Shannon), Jessica Morris (Taylor), Krysten Vaughan (Benjamin Posey), and Matthew Vaughan ; sister, Sherry Melvin (Christopher); brothers, James Vaughan (Annette) and Ronnie Vaughan (Betty); grandchildren, Thomas Tuck, Si-Anna Tuck, Liana Posey, Karsten Posey, Benson Posey and Brandon Morris; 3 step grandchildren; special friend, Lisa McGill; the mother of his children, Wilma Elliott; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by all of his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston Vaughan and his grandparents, Herbert and Susie Vaughan and Johann and Maria Haslinger. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 20 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Halifax Memorial Gardens.
