Doris Cole Elliott

Mrs. Doris Cole Elliott, 78, of 2003 Scottsburg Rd., Scottsburg died Monday, January 11, 2010 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County January 20, 1931, the daughter of the late Robert Dalton Cole and the late Fannie Spencer Cole and was married to the late Cecil Morell Elliott. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Scottsburg Baptist Church and was a member of the Scottsburg Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. She was a retired seamstress with Tultex. Survivors include three sons, Kenneth C. Elliott and wife, Julie of Vernon Hill, Robert D. Elliott and wife, Carol of Scottsburg; and Rodney E. Elliott and wife, Mary of South Boston; her brother, Morgan Cole of Halifax; two sisters, Marie C. Ford of Virgilina and Lucy C. Arrington and husband Leon of Buffalo Junction; six grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, W. Page Cole. Funeral services will be held at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, January 13 at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Scottsburg. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Tuesday evening, January 12, from 7 until 8:30, and at other times at the home.
