Doris Yates Wilborn

Doris Yates Wilborn, 94, of South Boston, passed away on Friday, March 1st, 2024. She was born on Sunday, December 29th, 1929 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Aubrey and Fannie Yates. Doris was married to the late Erdis Talmedge Wilborn.

Doris is survived by her daughter Debra Stewart (Delton); her granddaughter Krystal Stewart Glasscock (Adam); her great grandchildren Bates Glasscock and Adelyn Glasscock; and her brother, Michael Yates. She is also survived by her nephew Charles Green and niece Beverly Ann Thompson.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by her son Steven Wayne Wilborn and her sister Jean Yates Green.

Doris was the owner/operator of Wilborn's BBQ and was dedicated to providing delicious food and exceptional service to her community. She spent her spare time quilting, cross stitching, and embroidering. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 3rd at 3:00pm at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home with the Reverend Norman Talley officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 2:00PM until 3:00PM and at other times at the home of her daughter.
