Dorothy Pearl Hite

Clarksville, VA - Dorothy Pearl Hughes Hite, age 91, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016.She was born on December 8, 1924 in Halifax County, VA to the late Fannie Hite and George Washington Hughes.Mrs. Hite was a graduate of Clarksville High School and retired from Burlington Industries, where she worked in the Burling and Mending department.Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Vipperman Hite.She is survived by daughter, Sue Hite Walker of Nelson; son and daughter in law, Larry and Peggy Hite of Nelson; grandchildren, Shelley Patton, Jana Walker, Stephen Hite (Amy) and Amy Miano (Peter); and great grandchildren, Samuel Hite, Noel Hite, Ruby Hite, Lauren Newton, Emily Newton, Kaylee Newton, Laci Miano, Anthony Miano, Christian Miano, Benjamin Miano, Stella Miano, Ella Patton and Kira Patton. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 from 7 – 9 p.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA.Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 12 at 4 p.m. in the Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.The Reverend Todd McClure will officiate.
