Dorothy Hill Hudkins

SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Dorothy Hill Hudkins of South Boston, VA died Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born in Washington, DC on December 30, 1922 to the late William Howard “Boots” Hill and the late Dorothy “Dot” Matthews Hill and was married to the late Homer Jesse Hudkins. Dorothy was a homemaker who kept a clean house, enjoyed soap operas, and always made sure everyone was fed. Mrs. Hudkins is survived by daughters, Betty Hudkins, Margie Hudkins, and Bobbie Hudkins, all of South Boston; sister, Helen Surbaugh of South Boston; and grandchild, David Lee Hudkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and several brothers and sisters. A graveside committal service will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Halifax Memorial Gardens with Pastor Dana Cook officiating.
