Dorothy Winn Powell

Dorothy Crews Winn Powell, 87, died Sunday, September 30, 2007. She was born July 2, 1920 to the late James Lawrence and Elizabeth Blalock Crews. She was the widow of William E. Winn and the former wife of Col. Marcus L. Powell, Jr. Ret., of Oxford, NC. Dot is survived by one sister-in-law, Ann Crews Furr of Eufala, AL and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She worked for many years and retired from McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at 11:30 AM at Bethany Baptist Church in Baskerville, VA., with The Reverend Jane Lyon officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Bethany Baptist Church, c/o David Jones, Treasurer, 6874 Highway 1, Bracey, VA 23919. Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home is serving the Powell Family.
