Dorothy Pool Watts

SOUTH BOSTON - Mrs. Dorothy Pool Watts of South Boston, VA died on Friday, September 4, 2015 at the age of 88. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on August 3, 1927 to the late Richard Arthur Pool and the late Ola Susan Hudson Pool and was married to the late William Harry Watts, Sr.. Mrs. Watts was a homemaker and was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.Dorothy enjoyed baseball and softball games with her family and friends. Mrs. Watts was a member of AARP where she enjoyed many bus trips to visit the sights. She was widely known and loved by all and she always had a love for her red lipstick. Survivors include two sons, William Harry Watts, Jr. and wife, Bonnie of South Boston, VA and Edward Ray Watts of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Annette W. Lewis and husband, E.C. of South Boston, VA; two brothers, George E. Pool and wife, Jean of Princeton, NC and Otis R. Pool and wife, Arlene of Great Falls, VA; grandchildren, David Rodney Watts and wife, Tara, Christopher Edward Watts, Anna Lewis Flowers and husband, Brandon, Erin Leigh Watts, William Bret Lewis and wife, Stephanie, and Cliff Lewis and wife, Theresa; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four grandchildren, Brad Watts, Keith Watts, Eric Huss, and Cody Lewis, and eight brothers and sisters. The Watts family would like to extend a special thank you to Jessie Hite, Anita Coleman-Freeman, Connie Marvin, and Vanessa King for their tender care and love for Dorothy. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Shady Grove United Methodist Church with the Reverend Randy Holmes and the Reverend Shayne Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Sunday, September 6 from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Annette and E.C.
