Dwight Dean Roberts

South Boston, VA. - Mr. Dwight Dean Roberts of South Boston, VA died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the age of 52. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on January 11, 1963 to Jerrell “Jerri” Simmons Morton and the late James Marvin “Fireball” Roberts. Mr. Roberts was an electrician at Elliott Electric. Dwight had a strong work ethic growing up, a love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, and loved fishing and being on the water. Mr. Roberts is survived by his mother Jerri S. Morton of Burkeville, VA; was a loving father to his son, Dwight D. Roberts, Jr. of South Boston, VA, and two daughters, Martie Roberts and Julia Roberts, both of South Boston, VA; brothers, Ricky M. Roberts of Richmond, VA and Bradley B. Bryant of Dinwiddie, VA; two sisters, Mitzi R. Hubble of Mechanicsville, VA and Wendy R. Yancey of Danville, VA; special brothers, Eddie Bryant of Farmville, VA, David Bryant of Roanoke, VA, and Donnie Bryant of South Boston, VA;special sister, Robin Bryant of Topping, VA;and his beloved blended family, Sandy Eagle of Chesterfield, VA, Deborah Burnette of Mechanicsville, VA, and Kenny Morton of Powhatan, Va, and by his maternal grandmother, Gladys Simmons of Richmond, VA;and was a loving grandfather to two granddaughters, Mackenzie Roberts and Scarlett Hartsock; and special friends, Scott "Gator" Powell and Meagan York. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Woody Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Alton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Friday, July 31, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 1048 Whitlow Trail, South Boston, VA.
