Earl Criss Link

ALTON - Mr. Earl Criss Link of Alton, VA passed away on March 7, 2017 at the age of 79. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on May 17, 1937 the son of the Late George Norman Link and the late Annie Wilborn Link and was married to Leola Foxx Link. Earl was a farmer and was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and music, especially bluegrass and was the 1990 Virginia Fiddling champion. Mr. Link is survived by his wife of 55 years, Leola Foxx Link; son, Charles Criss Link of Alton; daughter, Penny Bowles and husband, Steve of Roxboro, NC; grandchildren, Krystal Shelton and husband, Davy and Dylan Bowles; great grandchildren, Hailey, Skyler, and Brayson; sister, Virginia Link Dunn of Alton; a host of nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ray Whitt. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Grove U.M.C. cemetery with the Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck officiating. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 8 from 7:00 Pm until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home, 6060 Cluster Springs Rd.
