Earlie Louis Puryear

Mr. Earlie Louis Puryear, 88, passed away quietly at his home in Buffalo Junction, VA on Saturday, February 28, 2015.Mr. Puryear was born August 23, 1926 in Mecklenburg County, VA. to the late Samuel Jackson Puryear and Lottie Redd Puryear.He was a deacon and trustee of Buffalo Baptist Church.Earlie served in the U.S. Army during WWII and retired from Burlington Industries after 42 years of service as an electrician.Mr. Puryear also farmed most of his adult life. Mr. Earlie Louis Puryear is survived by his wife Alberta Cavanaugh Puryear, his daughter and son in law Sandra and Gene Woodward of Waynesboro, his sons and daughters in law Randy and Jane Puryear and Robert and Tracie Puryear all from Buffalo Junction.Mr. Puryear is also survived by his grandchildren, Veronica Quinley, Marshall Puryear, Bryant Puryear, Laura Slagle, Daniel Gregory, Ashton Puryear, Erin Puryear and his nine great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his late wife, Lillie Mae Allgood.The visitation for Mr. Earlie Puryear will be held at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 until 9 o’clock pm.The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 o’clock am at Buffalo Baptist Church with The Reverend Wally Kelly officiating.
