Edith Puryear Atkins

VIRGILINA, VA Mrs. Edith Puryear Atkins of Virgilina passed away Monday, February 4, 2019 at the age of 102.She was born in Halifax County on October 30, 1916 to the late James Puryear and the late Susie Tillotson Puryear and was married to the late Robert Fenton Atkins. Mrs. Atkins was a member of Union Christian Church in Virgilina and a former member of Clarksville 145 OES. She is survived by 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces and great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter in law, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Virgilina Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The family requests in lieu of flowers please consider, Virgilina Cemetery, c/o Betty N.
