Edith Isabelle Koenig

Edith Isabelle Koenig of Skipwith, VA, passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, at the age of 99. Born in Prattville, Alabama on April 22, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Voris and Martha Dillard Voris and the wife of the late Egan Gunther Koenig. Edith was a homemaker and a wonderful mother to her two boys. She won Mrs. New Jersey 1957, for her amazing down home country fried chicken she prepared. She was a member at Clarksville Presbyterian Church.

Edith is survived by her two sons, Karl Edward Koenig, of Skipwith, VA, and Ronald Egan Koenig (Georgine), of Smithfield, VA; four grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Alice, and Martha; and her brother, Edward Voris.

Edith will be laid to rest beside her husband at Arlington National Cemetery. Funeral services will be announced at a later date.
