Edith Wilson Tingen

Oxford, NC - Mrs. Edith Wilson Tingen died Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 91.Edith was born July 12, 1925 in Granville County, NC to the late Mae Neathery Wilson and the late George Lee Wilson.She was married to the late Charlie Lee Tingen.Mrs. Tingen was employed for more than 20 years with Burlington Industries in Clarksville.She was a member of Marrow’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served for many years as a teacher and was active in the UMW Association and the church choir.Edith loved visiting with family and friends, cared deeply for her church family and loved flowers and hummingbirds. Mrs. Tingen is survived by her sons, Marshall Lee Tingen and wife, Patricia and Michael E. Tingen and wife, Trisha; grandchildren, Jennifer T. Reese (Brian), Julie T. Blackwell (Jamie), Jeffrey M. Tingen (Ross), Gary Tingen, Sandy Tingen and Chad Barker.Also surviving are great grandchildren, Carson, Meredith, Madelyn, J.T., Sawyer and Brooks. Services for Edith Wilson Tingen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Marrow’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Bullock, NC with the Reverends Logan Miller and John Yount officiating.The family will receive friends at the church before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
