Edmund Carroll Glover

Chapel Hill, NC - Edmund Carroll Glover III, age 85, passed away 14 July 2016 at DuBose Health Center at The Cedars of Chapel Hill. The son of Edmund (Eddie) Carroll Glover Jr. and Ruth Harvey Kersey, he grew up in Drakes Branch and Victoria, Virginia.Upon graduation from Augusta Military Academy in 1950, he enlisted in the Navy.Upon completion of his naval service, he entered Medical College of Virginia (now Virginia Commonwealth University), graduating with a degree in pharmacy in 1958. He married Jean Marie Lang in 1953.She and their daughters, Jean Ruth Glover and Lisa Lang Glover survive him.A nephew, Larry Carroll Overton, also survives him. His sister, Barbara Glover Overton, and his parents predeceased him. After working a brief time in South Boston, Virginia, he bought and operated a pharmacy in Clarksville, Virginia from 1960 until 1985. He and his wife moved to The Cedars of Chapel Hill in North Carolina in 2004.A Gathering in Remembrance of Edmund Glover will be held in The Cedars Ballroom at 11 am on Monday, 18 July 2016: 100 Cedar Club Circle, Chapel Hill, NC27517. Interment will occur at 2 pm on Wednesday, 20 July, at the family plot in Lakeview Cemetery, Victoria, Virginia. Edmund asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross for the West Virginia flood victims.
