Edna Parker Shearin

Mrs. Edna Parker Shearin, 77, widow of Russell Shearin, died Monday, January 21, 2008 at her home. She was the daughter of David Jackson and Nannie Bet Vaughan Parker and was retired from Burlington Industries with 53 years of service. She attended Nelson Baptist Church. Services will be 2PM Thursday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with Reverend Jim McAlister officiating. Interment will follow in Oakhurst Cemetery. Mrs. Shearin is survived by daughter Ann Wiles and her husband, Payton of Nelson; sisters Annie Jones of Nelson and Christine Blackwell of Creedmoor, NC; and brother Rufus Parker of Nelson. Also surviving are grandchildren David Wiles of Nelson, and Brian Wiles of Virgilina; 2 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lonnie Kimball and brothers, Weldon Lou and Dewey Lee Parker. The family will receive friends 7-9PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
