Edward Fred Cole

SOUTH BOSTON, VA Mr. Edward Fred Cole, Sr. of South Boston passed away at the age of 73, on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Sentara Halifax Regional Hospital.He was born August 28, 1944 to the late Fred N. Cole and the late Ruth T. Cole and was married to Edith Powell Cole for 45 years. Edward was retired from Electric Service Company, having worked with them 15 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Edward F. Cole, Jr. and wife Tanya and Jamie T. Cole and wife April; a grandson, Chase A. Cole and friend Leah; granddaughters, Jasmyn A. Cole and Ashton B. Cole; sisters, Barbara C. Holt and husband, Edward and Brenda C. Thaxton; and brother, Timothy D. Cole and wife Gina. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Zachary Tyler Cole, nephews, Larry Wayne Thaxton, Jr and Willie T. Holt; and niece, Lee Ann Holt. Funeral services for Mr. Edward Fred Cole, Sr. will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel. Burial will follow at Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00-8:30 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times at his home, 1040 First Street, South Boston and also at the home of his son and daughter in law, Edward and Tanya Cole, 1042 First Street, South Boston, VA
